3 Ways to Boost Your Energy in the Morning
Hey mama. Having enough energy to get through the day is important, especially for you! Being a mom requires early mornings, long days, and late nights. As much as you might want to take advantage of a mid-afternoon nap, naptime is usually just for kids. There are so many things to do! That being said, energy can be hard to come by for any mama. Which is why I created this list of a few ways we mamas can support our energy during the day. Let me know what your favorite tip was in the comments below!
1 | Fitness
Don’t just take it from Elle Woods, exercise really does support your energy! Although it may feel more natural to think that exercise would make you tired, studies show that it actually works to improve your energy levels! And as much as it might be hard to get out of bed in the morning, a workout will leave you feeling energized, alert, and possibly even happier! The fact that exercise releases endorphins, helps with the quality of the sleep you get at night, helps to reduce stress, and helps your heart work better so that more oxygen is pumped to your brain (source, are all pretty convincing reasons to add a quick fitness segment to your morning routine).
2 | Healthy carbs
I know what you’re thinking. “Carbs????” Hey, not all carbs are unhealthy. The right ones can actually help to support your metabolism, suppress hunger, AND give you energy! Being a Russell Wilson (Ahem, I mean Seattle Seahawks) fan, I’ve read up on his new 4800 calorie diet where he’s actually been able to almost double his food intake while losing weight and reducing his body fat percentage. Cray-zee. In the post above, he said his trainer recommends he eat one ingredient starches like potatoes, yams, and oatmeal. This way they’re easily broken down by your body but you still get the great benefits of energy and having a full tummy!
3 | You guessed it! Caffeine.
