Hey pretty mamas,
I’ve been wanting to start something new on the blog recently, but I haven’t because I’ve been afraid that it would seem like I’m losing my focus and passion for what I love, mamas and marriages. Until it dawned on me that I can talk about this new thing while still helping mamas and marriages! They don’t have to be mutually exclusive.
So I wouldn’t call myself a fashion guru. But. I have always liked close and, better yet, getting them at a good deal. I’m not really the Bloomingdales type. Why spend so much on clothes when they’re just going to go out of style in a year, maybe two, anyway?
So here I am. Sharing with you some of my favorite outfits that are great for date nights and mom life. Trust me, everything I wear in the “Fashion” portion of Living the Sweet Wife will be cute, but simple enough and practical enough for almost any mama to pull of and chase a toddler in at the same time- ha! Because sometimes date night doesn’t start before the kids go to bed.
So this is for you lovely wives and mamas. From here on out, along with my regular marriage and mom life blog posts, I’ll be rolling out the occasional fashion post to give you ladies some tips for what’s great to wear on your next date night or momlife in general.
Which brings me to this:
Fall date night outfit for busy moms!
Many of you guys know I’m a mama. Many of you ARE mamas. So here I present to you the date night outfit PERFECT for busy mamas. Why is this outfit so perfect for moms?
1 | Stretchy jeans (mama’s gotta be able to move).
2 | A top that my baby won’t pull down, exposing me to poor unexpecting onlookers.
3 | A bra that’s cute, lacey, holds in the boobies, and swipes away easy for breastfeeding.
4 | Adorable slip-on shoes that are quick and easy to put on (even when my hands are full) and will stay on my feet.
Let’s break it down.
The top:
I absolutely love the slate blue peplum top from Shein because the colors are amazing and it is oh so flowy! I’m a tad bit chesty for my size and flowy tops tend to look boxy on me but this one doesn’t! It falls really well and is flowy and super lightweight without giving up shape. Love that!
The earrings
I mentioned these earrings earlier this week on Instagram (are we friends on Instagram yet?). They are made by an adorable small business based in Pennsylvania called Wire + Hide. Check out their site, they are sooo cute!
The Bra(lette)
Sometimes when I need to go grocery shopping, I tell myself that at least I can go to Target so I can get myself pretty as a reward on the way out. Probably not the healthiest habit but it gets me out the door with two kids when I realllllly don’t want to. Anyway. The bralette I’m wearing was my something pretty the other day. I think it looks super cute popping out to say hello from under the top and it’s great for breastfeeding because it swipes away easy when the baby is hungry. Pretty and practical. Win, Win.
The Jeans
What do I love about these jeans? They’re super stretchy. Like crazy stretchy. But they bounce back like a rubber band! I can wear them all day while chasing around the kiddos and they’re not stretched out at the end of the day. LOVE that.
Le shoes
Love these. They slip on, are super comfortable, and I wear them with jeans and casual dresses.
So yeah, there’s a lot to love about this. Oh, and I forgot to mention that you can totally pull off a mom bun with this look.
And hoolahoop. Always test out your mom outfits by hulahooping before leaving the house with children.
