Why God Wants Intimacy for Your Marriage
Intimacy in marriage is something that we all want, and it’s so darn important! But it might be important for another reason than what you were thinking.
Intimacy in marriage is important because God wants to show the world that He wants an intimate relationship with us! Marriage is a picture of God’s relationship with the Church and it’s our job to portray that accurately within our own marriage!
I’ve seen a lot of Christian marriage bloggers and authors write about how to make your marriage more intimate, or more happy, enjoyable, and peaceful- which are all great things that I believe God wants for us! But if our goal for our marriage stops there, we are missing out on the purpose and opportunity God gives for all married couples!
There are many ways we can show the love of God to others throughout marriage. We can serve self-sacrificially, forgive, love, and build up. There are so many things that go into making a marriage truly “intimate” other than just having a great sex life. I’ll be talking about a lot of those things here in Living the Sweet Wife in the near future!

I have been (mostly very happily) married for 22 years now and I just wanted to let you know I really appreciate your marriage advice. It has a great depth to it and very Godly perspective. Keep up the great work of speaking the Truth!
Enjoyed your video and love your blog. Thanks for giving your perspective I definitely thinks it makes sense that marriage can be happy but that dont mean challenges wont come to grow the intimacy closer.
When the man marries his wife, they become one flesh. This does not just mean physical union. It means that they are one at heart and in spirit. This is why they should work together to keep the vows they made in front of God. Thanks for sharing this Chelsea.
