Growing up, both my parents were great cooks. We never had rice from a box. The thought to buy rice in a box for dinner never even occurred to me until one day hungrily browsing the food isle in the grocery store (see my post about how to get out of the grocery store faster) and I decided to give it a try/
I brought home the Rice a Roni and right away I thought, “My husband is going to take one spoon of this and think, ‘this is it?’”
So in order to avoid that question I’ve come up with ways to up my Rice a Roni game without spending an extra hour in the kitchen. Because, hey, most nights it’s all I can do to get dinner in the oven before nap time is up.
Rice-a-Roni fried rice:
[amd-yrecipe-recipe:18]This is a super simple way to make all the difference with your Rice a Roni meal. I make tons of variations to my Rice a Roni dinners (we eat them a lot considering 1. they’re cheap, 2. they’re healthy-ish and 3. they’re quick and many times can be made in one pot.
Let me know what twists you use to spice up ordinary dinners! If you found this post helpful or inspiring- remember, sharing is caring!
Love this! My husband always complains when I make just the boxed rice . . . never thought to make a full meal out of it!
Yum! Delicious and easy– my favorite!
