There was a time when I tended to avoid spicy food. It’s not that I didn’t like spicy foods, I just felt that the spicier it was, the less I could actually enjoy my food. Well, that was before I became pregnant with my son. I worked full-time throughout my pregnancy and almost every day my lunch of choice would be a grilled cheese with jalapeños. I loved everything jalapeño! Which is crazy for a prego girl! I never actually got bad heartburn tho (sorry if I just gained a couple haters there). Since having David, my habits haven’t changed. I still enjoy a spiced-up grilled cheese, spicy Mexican chips and dip, or spicy Mexican anything! This recipe pays tribute to that time.

Let me tell you, these fresh jalapeño poppers are spicy! It doesn’t really hit you at first, but about ten seconds go by and you’ll be wishing you grabbed a glass of water ahead of time. Maybe that’s just my baby tongue talking. If jalapenos are a piece of cake for you then have at ‘em!
